Vessel Commissioning and Sea Trials

What gets done

• Commissioning strategy. What has to be proven, to whom, and in what order.
• Harbour acceptance testing, sea trials and site acceptance, with protocols written to sign-off lines rather than tick boxes.
• Endurance testing. Proving the vessel can stay out and keep working, which is a different question from proving it works.
• Payload and mission-system integration, and the operational validation that follows it.
• Test cards and acceptance criteria that point at your vessel specification, so nothing carries somebody else's numbers into your programme.
• Defect management. Identification, prioritisation, resolution tracking and retest, run as a process rather than a list of emails.
• Degraded mode and failure testing, including loss of communications and loss of control.
• FMEA workshops for the platform and for the operation around it, which is the part usually left out.
• Test-site and trials programme management. Coordinating vessels, personnel, facilities, safety arrangements, engineering objectives, operational priorities and visiting stakeholders.
• Readiness for client handover, and witnessing on either side of it.

What you get

A commissioning plan and protocol set you can run to. A completed evidence pack that stands up in front of a client or an approver rather than a folder of photographs. And a clear written position at the end: accepted, accepted with conditions, or not accepted, with the reasoning shown.

How it runs

Either as a defined campaign with an agreed output, or as support to your own trials team. Where there is no process at all, the first deliverable is the process itself - this is work I have done from a blank sheet before.

Buyer-side witnessing and builder-side delivery are never taken on the same programme. If that is what you are asking for, you will be told so at the first call.
